"The agents were great and very helpful"

The agents were great and very helpful. They booked us in an incredible resort. Answered every question. The only issue we had was that we have three kids. 9,12,15. They booked our seats in the exit row. Which was amazing for us adults but the kids couldn't sit there. Before flight I did notice that this may be an issue. So I addressed it and was assured it's fine with Fiji airlines. We paid an extra $100 per seat to save those exit rows. When we got to airport and checked in they moved our little ones because we were told they were not permitted in exit row. That was frustrating to try and find seats close to us. That was the only complaint we have.

"I found Fiji vacations online after"

I found Fiji vacations online after having a terrible experience with another vacation company. Melissa and Caroline are the best! They know everything about every resort in Fiji. Caroline set up an amazing trip for us at two different resorts, we could not have been happier. Everything went went so smoothly from arrival greeting, transportation, resorts, it was a flawless experience. I would never use another company!

"I would never usually make a negative"

I would never usually make a negative review towards a company unless I truly felt others should know about the experience. This past summer, I had the priviledge of traveling to Fiji with a friend of mine. I had worked with a travel agent at Fiji Vacations for my travel bookings (i.e flights & accomodations). Unfortunately, from the moment I booked, nothing was as I had hoped. My travel documents were supposed to have been finalized within the next few days, however, weeks later, I finally recieved my itinerary just days before I was to leave (I spent a few weeks prior to Fiji traveling Bali- since service is limited in these areas, I needed my finalized documents sent before leaving the US). It wasn't until I began flying that I came into more problems. As previously mentioned, prior to Fiji, I spent three weeks traveling around Bali. This only meant I had lots of luggage. The travel agent had informed me that I would be able to make my bags 23 kg. I was not informed that the 23 kg was the total weight for my bags, not the individual weight. Airlines abroad charge $15 per extra kg, unlike in the U.S where it is simply a $50 extra bag fee. My first flight's baggage from Bali to Fiji almost cost me $500 (USD). I had two more connections to go and knew that I would only have to continue paying these outrageous fees. The check-in assistant informed that my travel agent could have extended the weight to 40 kg total, however, because I had booked through a third party, I personally no longer could change the alloted weight on my account. The overall travel time was extremely stressful and overwhelming. Finally, I land in Fiji and my driver accomodations were great. There was someone waiting for us who immediately took us to our transfer. Our "resort" was called Blue Lagoon Beach Resort. Our travel agent did not inform us that our "room" was not a room at all, but a bed. Bathrooms and showers were communal, and meals were only open at certain hours of the day. Upon arrival, lunch had been closed down. However, after 20+ hours of traveling, we were starved. Unlike a typical hotel which would have been accomodating to our needs, the only thing we were offered by Blue Lagoon was a bag of chips that we would have to purchase (although we had already purchased the meal plan for that day). We left the resort immedialtely and found another resort nearby which we felt extremely comfortable, welcomed, and happy at. Despite our terrible experiences, we were never refunded for the our hotel stay. We lost a lot of money and did not receive kind responses from the travel agent. I can't help but feel as though our young age resulted is poorer treatment as a client. Rather than being apologetic, she was accusatory. I just don't believe that this is how business should be done. I wish the next travelers a great experience in Fiji! Thank you for hearing about my experience.
