"60 MILES TO TRAVEL FOR A 30 MINUTE APPOINTMENT!!!!!!"
I have been a member of Benenden for many years ...but sadly am thinking of leaving due to the following. Up to about a year ago Benenden members could access LOCAL diagnostic tests and consultant appointments near to where they live. BUT now due to a policy change if you live within approx 60 miles of the Benenden hospital in Kent you have to go there for appointments!!!!. I have a local BMI hospital near me where i have had Benenden appointments before but now i will have to travel 60 miles for a 30 minute appoinment!!!!...what if i am unwell?...what about the train fares etc?..totally unrealistic Benenden!!

"Good for Health Insurance but go somewhere else for Travel!!!"
We have been with Beneden Health for many, many years, the service we have received has been second to none, we have not been able to fault them for their professionalism or their customer service, so taking out annual Travel Insurance with them seemed to be a no brainer. Once again the lady on the phone was very professional and the price we were given was very competitive. When we received the renewal reminder we had no hesitation but to just renew it. Little did we know how WRONG we were. The man on the phone could not find our policy number, in fact he could even find any record of us at all on his system at all, so basically we did not exist. He told us he would have to go through his questioners again!!! As we all know this can be a lengthy phone call to go through the questioners for Travel Insurance but we went along with it giving him the benefit of the doubt. At the end he told us that because we were long loyal customers we would be entitled to almost twenty present discount of their very completive prices. WHAT!!!! - This was amazing as earlier there was no record of us on their files!!! He then presented us with a price which was OVER DOUBLE what we had paid the previous year. We made a complaint to Beneden's Head Office as we thought this was a bad reflection on their company. From all accounts Beneden's Travel insurance is now unwritten by another company. The response we received did not even relate to all the facts we set out in our complaint. We replied to their response and sent a copy to Beneden's Head Office but heard NOTHING. I think many would agree this reflects poorly on any company as not only has no one taken the trouble to read through our complaint properly but when this is pointed out to them they don't even bother to reply - which only goes to show NOBODY CARES!!! What a sad way to treat your loyal customers - We gave our business to AGE UK.

Mixed bag. Reasonably quick access to Physio tho it was terribly hard to find out in advance where Physio practices included in the scheme were located - I wanted to know this to assess if it would in fact be a feasibly option for me to use - why the big secret?! Phone assessment was ok and happened quickly. Very happy with quality of care at the practice I was referred to. But I am NOT happy that only an assessment and one treatment session authorised and then the Physio has had to delay my next appointment to send in a report to Benenden before any more sessions can be set up. Surely as a health professional the Physio can make a reasonably reliable assesment of thr number of sessions likely to be needed and not have this interruption.to treatment?

Excellent company. Both I and my husband have used them for years with absolute confidence. We particularly like the GP 24 hr helpline, so useful when GP appointments are so difficult to book. You don't want to waste your GP's time with something that may just be minor but the 24hr helpline can reassure you that yes you do need to see your doctor or no your problem can be treated by yourself at home. Definitely a wholehearted recommendation for Benenden we don't know what we'd do without them to give us peace of mind.

Having used this service successfully before I recommended them to friends. However, the next time we used them the rules had been changed and we were told we were unable to claim. The telephone operatives were unhelpful and we were £500 down.
